Description
Chelinda Camp is set within the high-altitude montane grasslands and forested patches of Nyika National Park in northern Malawi. At 3134km² Nyika is Malawi’s largest National Park. The camp overlooks a crystal-clear dam with views out onto the open grasslands of the High Nyika Plateau. It is situated on the edge of a forest, with the trees serving as both a windbreak and source of firewood and timber in this grass-dominated environment.
Look and feel
- Four chalets ideal for private groups – each with two bedrooms and bathrooms, a lounge, dining area and small kitchen; private meals can be enjoyed in the chalet
- Six twin-bedded, en-suite rooms with either a bath or shower; guests here take meals in the nearby main area
- The main area has a large dining and lounge area with comfortable furnishings and an inviting fireplace to enjoy the mountain evenings
